Without the binder over time the insulation may settle or compact as it absorbs and expels moisture. The UK did a lot of product testing during development to get the best performance with the least amount of binder. This wool insulation is made with three ingredients: sheep's wool, Borax (a salt based solution), and polyester. The Borax is sprayed on for pest resistance.
