Forbo Marmoleum Linoleum
Marmoleum is produced from renewable materials: linseed oil, rosins, wood flour, jute and ecologically responsible pigments. The harvesting or extraction of these raw materials consumes relatively little energy. As long as the sun shines and the rain falls, Forbo will be able to produce linoleum.
Natural Cork Flooring
Cork is the bark from the Cork Oak Tree. It is harvested from the mature trees without killing them (they can live to be 500 years old), allowing them to be harvested again within ten years. The cork is then ground and kiln dried making flooring material. Our cork floors are harder and more durable than traditional hard-wood floors due to the superior quality of the cork and the manufacturing process which uses no harmful chemicals.
Cork is water resistent, insect resistent, fire resistent, as well as bright, clean, and stylish. It can be used in residential and commercial applications. Coated with our water-based urethane, our cork can withstand airport traffic exceeding 10,000 people per day.
Recyled Tire Flooring
"It's not one feature alone but a combination of traits that makes ECOsurfaces recycled rubber flooring the number one rubber floor. We start with 100% post-consumer material (tires) rescued from America's landfills and mix in colorful, UV-resistant EPDM flecks. The two are then bound with a water-based polymer to create rubber flooring in an extensive array of 70 standard color combinations for any environment."
